…with glorious & tranquil river views of Penpol Creek, a uniquely unspoilt stretch of water, complete with abundant birdlife.
There is direct access to the water from the private orchard, perfect for launching small boats, paddleboards and kayaks at high tide.
Mown paths wind through the old cider orchards which are ablaze in winter and spring with drifts of snowdrops, daffodils bluebells and primroses, followed by wild flowers in the summer. They offer acres of potential adventures for budding Swallows and Amazons, who can run free in this glorious setting, complete with a pirate boat sandpit.
Generations of children have grown up loving holidays spent at Penpoll, building dams, camping out and having picnics in the orchard, feeding the resident ducks and swans, kayaking and messing about in small boats on the river, with the bonus that the delights of Fowey and the beautiful beaches along this part of the south coast are only a very short distance away.
…which dates from as early as 1272. The neighbouring mill supplied flour for Nelson’s fleet, and in the early 1960’s John Lennon came to stay at Penpoll cottage!
Comfortable sofas and parent hideaway terraces and suntraps enable essential adult downtime with stunning views of the creek.
Away from the water’s edge, there are peaceful walks from the gate to enjoy the abundant birdlife, and the beautiful rolling hills beyond.
